John Abraham is alleged to was bitten by a fan during a private appearance.

The actor was opening a jewelry store within the Indian city of Mangalore when the incident occurred, reports DNA.

“I saw the lady crazily running away shouting, ‘I touched him’,” said Mohammad Basheer, a member of the Desi Boyz star’s entourage.

The fan is claimed to have first shook hands with Abraham before grabbing his hand and biting his finger.

However, a source for the Karnatakan police blamed event planners for not ensuring adequate security.

“It was a record crowd that gathered inside the city for a non-public function. We had a tough time controlling it,” said the representative. “We heard that the actor was bitten by a lady but there’s no hard evidence.”

In 2009, Kareena Kapoor provided food to an obsessive fan who had gone on a hunger strike outside her Mumbai residence.

Abraham is predicted to start filming on Dostana 2 inside the following few months.
